Keynote - The Evolution of Healthcare in the US: Cancer Becomes a Data-Intensive Enterprise
Dr. William G. Nelson is the Marion I. Knott Professor of Oncology and Director of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. As one of three co-chairs of the National Cancer Institute’s Translational Research Working Group, he worked to reengineer translational cancer science across the nation, helping to author a landmark report. He has also been a member of the Scientific Advisory Boards of several companies focused on the development of new technologies and treatments for human cancer, a Co-Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee for Stand Up 2 Cancer, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Boards/Committees for a number of foundations, including the Prostate Cancer Foundation, the Kimmel Scholars, the V Foundation, and many others. This year, Dr. Nelson joined the Board of Directors for HarrisData. We are honored to have him presenting at our conference and giving his experience and voice to our strategic direction.
General Session Monday - AppsInHD: The Enterprise Application Mashup
Everything looks better in HD. TVs, smart phones, tablets, even enterprise applications look better when they are in HD. AppsInHD represents the new framework we have developed to bring together new versions of all of the components of an enterprise application – transaction services, metadata services, import services, forms services, search services, and more – into a single, user-friendly application. Last year, conference attendees saw a preview of the new HRIS solution based on the new framework – the first version of the AppsInHD Enterprise Application Mashup strategy. This session will look closer at the strategy and what it means for HarrisData and RTI customers.
General Session Tuesday - More AppsInHD: Bringing the rest of HD/RTI to AppsInHD
AppsInHD is more than a cloud initiative, or an HR/Payroll initiative. AppsInHD is the initiative that will bring all HarrisData and RTI applications to a common set of components that can be mashed up into a new kind of enterprise application. How will this transformation to AppsInHD affect your other HD/RTI applications? We’ll look briefly at the process of bringing Fixed Assets and General Ledger into the AppsInHD framework, and at the results, so you can better see what your applications will look like in the future.

With the HD5.0 version of the HarrisData software we started our transition to PHP for the HTML interface. This session will inform you where the scripts are held and how to modify them. This will be an informative session even if you have never programmed in PHP.
Applying Mods in HD5.0 – Legacy
The HarrisData HD5.0 applications are significantly different from previous versions of our software. The use of ILE techniques and much more SQL have added to the challenge of modifying the software. This session will teach you the basics of how to modify the software within the ILE environment retaining the necessary authorities to access the database.

B2B Interactive Website
This session by HarrisDate customer Amigo Mobility will demonstrate how they have developed a B2B website that draws the data from HarrisData files. The provider places an order via the internet and it is pushed to HarrisData files at set times. The features of the website will be discussed in detail.
Back To The Real World
After 14 years of being on the ‘inside’ at HarrisData, Kathy Miszewski has gone back to the ‘real world’. As Operations Manager at Superior Chemical, she uses the system all day long to monitor inventory levels, make purchasing decisions, and monitor various other product-related situations. She will share with you how she uses Widgets and Filters to give me the information she needs as quickly as possible.
Bill Of Lading Overlay
To go 'live' in January 2013, Superior Chemical decided to use the standard pre-printed, 2-part, pin-fed BOL form on a small pin-fed printer. When they found out that they needed to re-order soon, they quickly created a BOL form and uploaded to the IBM i. After a few alignment adjustments, it is ready to go. Let Kathy Miszewski of Superior Chemical show you how she did it.

Configuring Payroll in the New HarrisData HRIS
This session reviews the configuration options you can adjust in the new HarrisData payroll to automate virtually every payroll task. This session will review each of the major configuration areas, including: Positions, Pay Code configuration, Premium Pay configuration, Benefit/Deduction configuration, Tax configuration, Payment configuration, and Accounting configuration. The session will provide an overview of each configuration, and review how different settings can be used to solve common payroll situations. The session will also review the techniques that can be used to minimize configuration maintenance on an ongoing basis. Live software will be used to illustrate key concepts.
Dealer Portal to Warranty/ Non-Warranty RTI Invoicing Automation
HarrisData customer, Amigo Mobility uses RTI and HarrisData to improve its service dealer Warranty/Non-Warranty invoicing process. Attend this session to learn how their incidents are created in RTI to record the repair charges of a serialized electric shopping cart. Steps to complete the process will be reviewed in detail. They will demonstrate how Google Mapping is used to find a Service Dealer in the area of the repair.
Duplicate Checking, Validation, and UPS Interface
A Co-Dev was undertaken to provide three distinct pieces of functionality. The software has been enhanced to expand on duplicate account and contact checking, validation of the format of phone and email addresses, and – for those with UPS accounts – validating street addresses. This session will take a deeper look into the offered functionality.
Eliminate Manual Entry and Automate Data Capture for Your HarrisData Applications
In this session presented by RJS Software you will learn how you can utilize a web based form to capture data and import it to your HarrisData Software and other applications. Forms can be pre-populated from any database such as IBM i/iSeries, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL. Form data can also be written back to a database or web service after capture. Add attachments, use conditional logic, or capture signatures. Web based forms can have a significant impact across your enterprise- AP, HR, Shipping, ECRs, Quality, etc. The benefits of web based forms are the ability to capture data that is collected outside your HarrisData software with a web form, then import the data collected to eliminate manual entry. Process information faster with better accuracy.

The purpose of GUI Rules is to ensure the quality of the entered data and to automate data entry. This allows Support Personnel to quickly enter information into CustomerFirst with the knowledge that the information is accurate and complete for reporting. This session reviews the various actions and associated benefits available via GUI Rules.
HD5.0 Widgets and Filtering
HarrisData Widgets allow you to customize what information appears on each page without programming - allowing you to create a solution that fits your business requirements. You can control the pages so a given user sees the information appropriate to their role in the organization. For example, material handlers should see an item’s description and how much of it is in inventory, but they should not see its cost. Similarly, a salesman may be able to see outstanding invoices and their balances but should not be shown the costs associated with those invoices. With HD5.0, HarrisData also allows you to create a list of your favorite filters for a page. Some examples of filters would be “all products on quality hold” or “invoices to a specific salesperson which exceed $500.00”. Attendees will leave this session with a clear understanding of how to make and manage Widgets and Filters. They will also have an appreciation for how they can be used to better manage processes and improve access to information.

Importing Data in the New HarrisData HRIS
Getting data into the system is critical for getting started, but can be equally critical on an ongoing basis. During initial implementation, you may import large data sets like employee master files. After you are ‘live’ on the system, you may use imports to regularly upload pay transactions, deduction transactions, PTO transactions, and more. Integrating with HarrisData Web Services
Integration is what drives value in information systems. HarrisData software integrates a wide variety of business functions into streamlined processes, reducing data entry and minimizing errors. In many cases, value can be created by integrating third-party or home-grown software with HarrisData. With the growth of cloud computing and the rise of multiple servers in the data center, older integration strategies that relied on program calls and parameter lists are no longer sufficient. The long term view of integration must allow a program running on one of your servers to integrate with another program running on entirely different servers - or even in the cloud - seamlessly and reliably. This session illustrates the key concepts of integration in a web-based world by examining the parallel payroll comparison tool that lets you compare your HD5 Payroll results to a parallel environment using the new Payroll software on cloud or on premise.
Interact with HarrisData files using Excel, Query and Data Transfer Utility
Microsoft Query can be used to extract data from your HarrisData database and return it directly to Microsoft Excel. Learn how to use this tool to simplify your Excel reporting. Also learn how to use the graphical interface in Query to generate SQL scripts that can be used as the basis for additional queries or other SQL commands, such as Update or Delete. We will also explain how to use the Data Transfer Utility in iSeries Access to upload data from a spreadsheet to HarrisData master files, such as the Customer Master, Item Master or Bill of Materials Master.

The New AutoPay
In the new HarrisData HRIS, AutoPay represents a variety of processes that automatically generate Pay Transactions for an employee’s pay check. AutoPay can be configured to create overtime/double time transactions and shift premiums. AutoPay can be configured to create Pay Transactions to fill a salaried employee’s regular hours after PTO hours have been fed. AutoPay is a key weapon in the battle to automate payroll processing. This session uses live software to review all of the AutoPay options with examples that reflect common payroll situations.
PHP and RPG Integration Examples
In this session presented by Zend Technologies we will explore several examples of how PHP scripts can use the Open Source Toolkit to access RPG Business Logic. Implementation of the toolkit will be reviewed along with examples of simple RPG program calls, RPG Subprocedure calls, complex interfaces like data structures, Stored procedures and more.
Payroll Tax Setup and Management in the New HarrisData HRIS
The new HarrisData HRIS leverages BSI TaxFactory, a tax compliance engine used by many of the largest software companies and payroll services to insure ongoing compliance with changing tax regulations. This service allows you to automatically determine which taxes may apply to an employee based on their residential address and their work address(es), and to accurately calculate each tax (whether employer or employee paid). This session looks at how you set up employees and your organization to meet the changing regulatory requirements of payroll with the least amount of effort.
Planning Your HarrisData Upgrade
This session will provide specific tips and insight into the HD5.0 upgrade process. There are significant technical and foundational changes in this release, including reorganized documentation. This session will not address general functionality changes, but will highlight certain changes that should be considered before installing this upgrade. Power 8 Update from IBM
IBM recently announced new scale-out servers based on the Power8 chip. This session will give a technical update of the new models announced on April 28th.
Processing Payroll in the New HarrisData HRIS (Pts. 1 & 2)
Once your new HarrisData HRIS is configured to match your organizational policies, and you’ve loaded in your employee’s basic data, you’re ready to process payroll. In the new HarrisData HRIS, payroll is all about automation, and allows you to simply verify and adjust when necessary. First, you’ll put your Payroll Calendar into the system. Then, the system will automate the process of assigning Pay Transactions (and other imported transactions) to the right Payroll/Paycheck. The system will calculate (and re-calculate as necessary) each Paycheck individually, automatically creating premium pay transactions according to overtime and shift rules, PTO transactions according to plan rules, benefit/deduction transactions (both employer and employee sides) according to plan rules, garnishments according to court orders, tax transactions (employee withholding and employer expense) according to current regulations, payment transactions according to employee wishes, and accounting transactions to handle allocations and inter-company issues. You’ll be able to drill down through the payroll, evaluating the numbers and looking for any issues. If you find an issue, you’ll correct the Paycheck and recalculate it - interactively and in real time - and see the results immediately. Then you’ll approve the payroll, and finally create ACH files (or Bank Checks) and accounting feeds. This session will walk you through each step of the process, so you’ll know what to look for and how to make changes when you need to.

A New Approach to Creating Custom Forms in HD
HarrisData development has created many new technologies to support the new versions of our products. Where technically feasible, we want to bring some of those new technologies to current users of HD5 and RTI. The Forms service is one example of a new technology that was developed for the new versions but can be implemented to support HD5 and RTI environments, adding significantly improved output to your current HD/RTI applications. (The sample Pay Statements and Payroll Checks in your welcome packet were created by the Forms service.) This session will allow you to get a hands-on look at creating forms and overlays with the new technology, using specific use cases to demonstrate key topics:
- Using the Forms Service
o make changes to an existing form overlay
o create individual pdfs for each form, or a single pdf file containing multiple forms
o integrate images and graphics into a form
o integrate a pre-defined pdf background (such as a blank W2 form) into your process
- Advanced Technical Topics
o understand your deployment options
o create a new data source for the service (warning: technical!)
This Using the Forms Service section is generally appropriate for somewhat technical users. The Advanced Technical Topics section requires some knowledge of PHP and SQL.

This three hour session presented by Zend Technologies will allow attendees to get hands-on experience and connect to an IBM i LPAR running PHP in the cloud. The workshop will cover all of the basics of PHP through RPG program calls and database access using DB2 and MySQL. PCs will be available for use in this session.
