Security 101

Jan 16th 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This session will cover the basics of security and will be broad enough to include the controls available in both the EIP and the legacy interface.   Security topics will include:
- Controlling menu access.  For example, "the billing or month end close menu option should not be available to a material handler".
- Restricting access based on characteristics of the data.  For example, "folks in customer service don't need to see items we don't sell"  or  "supervisors should only see their own employees".
- Restricting access to specific functions even after passing the previous two types of security.  For example, "shipping personnel can access Order Entry from the menu and are allowed to see the sales orders , but they can only
ship orders, they cannot change or cancel them.
