Cox Interior Inc., headquartered in Campbellsville, KY, was founded in 1983 by Charles E. Cox with a dream of creating a market that implemented the use of poplar, oak, and cherry as an alternative to pine used in interior wood products at the time. They started manufacturing poplar doors and eventually expanded our product offerings to include stair parts and circular and free-standing staircases and hand-made mantels.
Today, Cox Interior Inc. manufactures and distributes a large assortment of interior and exterior wood doors, moldings, and other wood products. The majority of their items are still manufactured from poplar wood. Starting with logs purchased from surrounding areas, and after processing them through sawmills and kilns, the material is processed through their plant and assembly departments to construct custom trim moldings, custom doors, mantels, and staircases to our customer's specifications. They also sell doors and moldings produced from pine, red oak, white oak, and other species of wood as requested by customers. They are largely a custom shop and can build almost anything a customer can think of for their needs. Currently operating on a 70-acre site, with more than 20 acres of manufacturing facilities under roof, they also have warehouse distribution sites in 11 cities in 7 states.

Cox Interior Inc. has been a HarrisData customer for over 15 years, utilizing their payroll & HRIS modules on an AS/400 system from 2008-2016. While this software was great in itself, it did require the use of a terminal for data manipulation and required us to maintain a server on-premise as well. They were seeking newer and more feature-rich options when eventually learned of HarrisData's newest offering, AppsinHD.
Cox Interior received a demonstration of the new platform and was impressed with the ease of use and its broad feature set. They decided to handle all the data conversion from our old system to the new one with the guidance and help of HarrisData support, completing that phase and going live on the new system in January 2017. With the new system, their business has access to even more useful and intuitive reporting for all of our payroll and human resources data. Gary Bell, the director of IT, explained that “some of the more useful features are the automatic calculation of local/state tax configurations for employees based on residence & work locations, in addition to having access to more historical data such as bank account & payment distribution information at an employee level. “
“The graphical interface of the system makes it much easier to work with and initially learn the procedures to process payroll in a timely manner. In addition, we are no longer required to maintain a server on-site, giving us more time to dedicate to other projects. The support staff at HarrisData is second to none and is always very quick to respond when needed. We were assigned an implementation and support person at the beginning of the project and continue to receive wonderful assistance from the same individual to this day.”
